2017-18 Word Study
Learning and applying the meanings of prefixes, roots, and suffixes can help readers determine the meaning of words they read. Word study is not a "spelling list" of set words, but the words in the linked Quizlets help students practice their skills. The goal is for students to be able to apply the meanings of these prefixes, roots, and suffixes to other words in their reading and writing. Try out this link to see words used in context. Many examples of the prefixes, roots, and suffixes can be found online at this site.
